Meet the Director

Jacqueline Bennett was born in Calgary, and has been connected to Newfoundland her whole life. Jacqueline is passionate about connecting people of all ages with nature. Jacqueline is a mixed race person or Cree and Newfoundlander heritage. She graduated from the College of the North Atlantic in Corner Brook with a diploma in Early Childhood Education. Her training focused on the importance, development, and practice of developmentally appropriate emergent curriculum for children. Jacqueline completed a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology to explore her deep fascination of how nature is in relationship with psychological well being

She is a certified Forest & Nature School Practitioner by the Child & Nature Alliance of Canada. Since becoming certified, she has taken a leadership role in this national organization. To support Jacqueline's practice as wellness guide, she is a certified Advanced Yoga Teacher (CYT500), specializing in Children's Yoga, Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra. She also working to become a certified Forest Therapy Guide with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides. 

 

Jacqueline spends much of her free time outdoors or with her dogs. Jacqueline enjoys tending to her garden, most outdoors sports and harvesting wild food. She is passionate about reconnecting individuals back to nature. She is excited to welcome you to Sapling Forest School.
